Markus Hess Born 1954, grew up in Schaffhausen, Switzerland. After leaving school he took an apprenticeship as an interior decorator. Later he decided to travel the world. He headed a mission station in Papua New Guinea, was a development aid worker in Albania and worked later on for a big insurance company as an advisor to diplomats. After extended periods of residence in Australia and Malta, he currently lives with his wife in the vicinity of Schaffhausen.
